Materials
In Materials, you maintain products, baits, and tools used during work. Active materials appear in Used materials when creating a protocol.
Fields
| Field | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Name of the material or product | Yes |
| Unit | Measurement unit from Units | No |
| Category | Free text for organization, such as Rodenticides or Insecticides | No |
Material status
Each material has an Active or Inactive status.
- Active material is available in new protocols.
- Inactive material remains in the codebook and history, but technicians do not select it for new protocols.
You can switch the status directly in the Status column or in the edit dialog.
Material documents
For every saved material, you can attach safety data sheets, certificates, and other documents.
- Click ✏️ next to the material.
- Open the Documents tab in the dialog.
- Upload a file and choose the document type.
Note: The Documents tab appears only after the material is saved for the first time.
The table shows a badge with the number of attached documents. Click the badge to open the document list.
Order
Reorder materials by dragging the move handle. The order controls how materials appear in the protocol form.
Editing a material
Click the ✏️ icon in the item row. The dialog has two tabs:
- Information — name, unit, category, and status.
- Documents — uploading and managing documents.
Use in a protocol
When creating a protocol in Used materials:
- The technician selects an active material.
- They enter the quantity in the relevant unit.
- The material appears in the protocol and in the resulting PDF.
Tips
Tip: Use the unit that technicians actually use in the field. It makes quantity entry more reliable.
Tip: Categories help with longer lists. Use them consistently, for example by product type.
Tip: Deactivate outdated materials. Delete only when you know the item has not been used.
